श्रीलंका की राजधानी कोलंबो के थलंगामा इलाके में शनिवार रात एक गंभीर सड़क हादसे में राष्ट्रपति के सचिव डॉ. नंदिका सनथ कुमानायके की सरकारी कार ने एक मोटरसाइकिल को टक्कर मार दी। इस दुर्घटना में बाइक सवार एक ही परिवार के चार सदस्य घायल हो गए, जिनमें दो मासूम बच्चे भी शामिल हैं। घायलों को तत्काल उपचार के लिए अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया।  Sri Lanka News

पुलिस के मुताबिक, यह हादसा वायु सेना शिविर के पास पेलावट्टे-अकुरेगोडा रोड पर हुआ, जब राष्ट्रपति सचिव की कार विपरीत दिशा से आ रही मोटरसाइकिल से टकरा गई। मोटरसाइकिल पर चार लोग सवार थे—एक महिला और उसके दो बच्चे (दो और छह वर्ष) समेत एक पुरुष। सभी घायलों को पहले कोलंबो राष्ट्रीय अस्पताल ले जाया गया, जहां से मां और बच्चों को बेहतर इलाज के लिए लेडी रिज-वे अस्पताल स्थानांतरित किया गया।

हादसे के वक्त डॉ. कुमानायके की पत्नी और उनका चालक कार में मौजूद थे। दुर्घटना के बाद थलंगामा पुलिस ने कार चालक को गिरफ्तार कर कडुवेला मजिस्ट्रेट अदालत में पेश किया, जहां से उसे जमानत पर रिहा कर दिया गया। अदालत ने आरोपी चालक को पीड़ित परिवार को 35,000 श्रीलंकाई रुपये बतौर अंतरिम मुआवजा देने का आदेश भी दिया है।  Sri Lanka News
